Women’s Health

Accelerated’s talented clinical team doesn’t just recognize the unique health needs of women . . . we understand them. That’s why our Women’s Health and Rehabilitation Program offers a specialized treatment approach tailored to reducing pain and restoring function caused by conditions exclusive to women.

Pregnancy and Childbirth

Pregnancy challenges your body and how it functions. Weight gain and increased fluid retention add stress to your muscles, tendons, and bones. This may lead to changes in posture and/or cause abdominal/pelvic muscle weakness. These developments can result in back pain and other discomforts.

Accelerated is committed to helping pregnant women improve their comfort levels.

This video offers information detailing how we assist pregnant women with back pain.

Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

With proper diagnosis and care, most cases of urinary incontinence (involuntary urination) can be successfully treated. Muscular disorder of the pelvic floor may cause painful intercourse, deep buttock pain, incontinence, and low back pain.

This video details how Accelerated helps women of all ages with incontinence and pelvic floor conditions.

Post-Partum Conditions

The birthing process may result in a variety of uncomfortable conditions. We can assist in the rehabilitation of episiotomies and eliminate other painful symptoms, including: low back pain, pain during intercourse, soreness between the vagina and rectum, painful bowel movements, and pain from Cesarean sections.

Post-Surgical Conditions

Rehabilitation is often required for surgical procedures, such as laparoscopy, abdominal muscle repairs, and mastectomy/lymphedema.

Gentle Treatment

Our Women’s Health Rehabilitation Program begins with a private evaluation and diagnostic tests. We’ll work with you to assess your strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination and pain patterns. Based on results, our therapists will develop a customized program designed to help you return to normal daily activities and independent function.
