Employee Education

Accelerated partners with employers to custom design prevention and education programs at the workplace, with a focus on repetitive injury, safe work techniques and healthy back programs. Accelerated assists in determining specific departments which may benefit from injury prevention programs through a risk assessment that identifies injury patterns. Accelerated conducts an analysis of the work environment to observe workers in their jobs to be trained and assesses physical demands, problem areas and the risk factors, which are identified by OSHA as contributing to musculoskeletal disorders.

Program Components:

Accelerated will conduct a one-hour Injury Prevention class at the work-site which emphasizes prevention and self-responsibility. It includes the following elements:

  • Basic Anatomy
  • Common Back/Cumulative Trauma Disorders
  • Overview of causes/risk factors for Back /Cumulative Trauma Injury’s (Work/Home)
  • Solutions for Injury Prevention at (Work /Home)
    • Proper Posture
    • Body Mechanics (Job Specific Demonstration and Hands-On Participation)
    • Principles of Good Lifting Techniques
    • Reversal of Posture Exercises (Demonstration and Participation)
    • Healthy Work Habits
    • Recommended Lifestyle Changes (Work/Home)
    • Self-management techniques
  • “Back School” booklets and materials to support program goals

Following the initial training period, classes may be separated by new hires and refresher courses for existing employees allowing the employer to incorporate the program as a regular part of new hire training to further reduce injuries.

Features:

  • Incorporates “real work” situations into injury prevention classes ensuring that instruction is job specific and meaningful to the worker
  • Includes a work-site analysis to assess the following risk factors, which are identified by OSHA as contributing to musculoskeletal disorders:

    • Forceful Exertion
    • Awkward Postures
    • Contact Stress
    • Vibration
  • Ensures compliance and success through regular follow-up services
