woman to woman: Help for common conditions
The Women’s Health and Rehabilitation Program at Accelerated Physical Therapy offers a specialized treatment approach for the unique health needs of women. Our well-trained and caring staff is devoted to promoting a higher quality of lifestyle for women with pregnancy pain, incontinence, pelvic floor issues and post-surgical conditions. This all-female team provides one-on-one care and customized treatment programs in a private, supportive environment.
WE HELP FEMALE PATIENTS REDUCE PAIN AND RESTORE FUNCTION CAUSED BY CONDITIONS EXCLUSIVE TO WOMEN, INCLUDING:
Pregnancy and Childbirth
Pregnancy may impose anatomical and physiological challenges, which increase stress on the musculoskeletal system. Such changes may include postural alterations, weight gain, fluid retention and abdominal/pelvic muscle weakness. These changes can result in back pain and other discomforts.

With proper diagnosis and treatment, most cases of urinary incontinence (involuntary loss of urine) can be successfully treated to ensure a better quality of life.

Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
Muscular disorder of the pelvic floor may cause symptoms such as painful intercourse, deep buttock pain, incontinence and low back pain.

The birthing process may result in a variety of uncomfortable conditions. We can assist in the rehabilitation of episiotomies, low back pain, painful intercourse, soreness between the vagina and rectum, painful bowel movements and Cesarean sections.
Rehabilitation is often required for surgical procedures, such as laparoscopy, abdominal muscle repairs and mastectomy/lymphedema.
Our Women’s Health Rehabilitation Program begins with a private initial evaluation and diagnostic tests which assess strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination and pain patterns. Based on results, a customized program is designed to help you return to normal daily activities and independent function.
